Barbara Sard retired from the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities in June 2019, where she had led the Housing team for more than 20 years (with the exception of 18 months as Senior Advisor for Rental Assistance to then HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan). Previously, she was a legal services attorney, primarily in Boston.  For much of her career, Barbara focused on improving the federal Housing Choice Voucher program, particularly with the goal of expanding families’ access to neighborhoods where their children can thrive. She now works as a housing policy consultant.
